The penetration rate of new PV systems of micro inverters in Europe is low, and the space for household PV and industrial PV is broad. We estimate that the installed capacity of micro-reverse EU in 2022 will be about 1.8GW, and the penetration rate will be about 4%,
mainly because some countries have not implemented the compulsory shutdown policy, and the overall penetration rate is still at a low level. Although micro-reverse manufacturers will promote micro-reverse products during the core shortage window of string inverter in 2022, the European market is still in the early stage of micro-reverse product market education. We believe that the subsequent growth momentum of the European market mainly comes from:
(1) industrial structure: the proportion of household PV in Europe is higher than that in other regions, with strong willingness to self-use and high adaptability to micro-reverse. On the whole, the IHS report predicts that Europe's rooftop PV and industrial PV will account for 59% of all PV systems in 2022-2030. From the perspective of countries, among the large photovoltaic installation countries, the installed proportion of medium and large power stations in Germany is only 48%, the installed proportion of medium and large power stations in France is about 43%, the installed proportion of rooftop photovoltaic power stations in the Netherlands is close to 80%, and that of Italy is close to 70%. We judge that Microreverse will accelerate its penetration into the European market with the advantages of high security and long maintenance period.
(2) New market development: micro-reverse is applied to balcony photovoltaic, industrial and commercial photovoltaic and other new scenarios. The European balcony small photovoltaic power generation system is applicable to the maximum output power of 600W, so the purchase of 600W and below module products does not require government approval, and has the advantages of easy assembly and no need for installers/technicians. At present, Germany has more than 40000 balcony photovoltaic systems, and state governments and regional associations are increasing relevant subsidies.
(3) Policy support: the goal of PV installation is clear, and the support of PV loans is strong. In order to achieve the goal of 600GW photovoltaic grid connection proposed by REPowerEU, Europe needs to add 49GW of photovoltaic installed capacity every year.
(4) Players enter the market: micro-reverse manufacturers attach importance to European market development and enhance the market recognition of micro-reverse products. The market education of the overseas leading Enphase and the major domestic micro-reverse manufacturers has been strengthened, and it is expected to promote the application of micro-reverse products by building new local capacity and strengthening the cooperation between dealers and distributors.
