The demand for household use has steadily increased, and we are optimistic about the accelerated penetration of micro reverse industrial and commercial scenarios

Micro inverters have a high penetration rate of new household photovoltaic systems in the United States, and there is still room for industrial and commercial photovoltaic systems. At present, micro inverters (including optimizers) account for 94% of new household photovoltaic systems in the United States, 81% of small non-household photovoltaic systems (<100kW), and 36% of large non-household photovoltaic systems (≥ 100kW). We estimate that the installed volume of micro-reverse in the United States will be about 4.9 GW in 2022, and the penetration rate has reached 26%. We believe that the subsequent growth momentum of the US market is derived from
① the continuous growth of household PV and the further outperformance of other MLPE;
② The micro reverse permeability of industrial and commercial scenarios has accelerated.

From 2016 to 2022, the US market accounted for more than 50% of the global micro-reverse installed capacity, for the following reasons:
(1) the mandatory shutdown policy drives the micro-reverse. When NEC2017 was implemented, only three states in the United States implemented mandatory shutdowns, which expanded to 14 states in 2019, and expanded to the whole country after 2020. Micro-reverse ushered in a comprehensive release.
(2) Strong policy support for distributed photovoltaic drives the demand for household photovoltaic. According to LNBL, nearly 2.5 million household photovoltaic systems were installed in the United States in 2021, with an average installed capacity of 7.0kW; Moreover, the average installed capacity of non-household PV system is relatively small, which will only be 33kW in 2021. In 2022, the overall installed capacity of PV in the United States declined, but the installed capacity of PV for household use reached a record high, which is sufficient to verify the strong demand of PV for household use in the United States.
(3) The advantages of micro inverter for household use are significant, and it outperforms other inverters. From 2016 to 2022, the penetration rate of micro inverters in North America increased from 5% to 26%. We judge that the competitiveness of micro inverters for household use is mainly due to:
① In 2016-2018, the PV installation in the United States contracted, and the penetration rate of micro inverters still increased, indicating that a considerable number of owners are willing to pay a high premium for the advantages of micro inverters such as safety, high maintenance period, and multi-function;
② From 2020 to 2022, the installed capacity of PV in the United States increased, and the growth rate of micro-reverse was faster than that of other inverters. The slowdown in the growth of micro-reverse shipments in 2020 is mainly due to the supply shock and the decline in payment power caused by the epidemic
